My three step solution to the National Debt is simple.
1. I propose creating a “debt free” National Currency (just like the founding fathers, Abraham Lincoln, and John F. Kennedy implemented) that is based upon the American people’s productivity (not a fiat currency…. but one based upon the commodity of productivity AND REGULATED BY A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT). Historically debt free currency has been associated with great benefits to the people and was used by the Roman empire through 300 years of Roman peace with no inflation, throughout the Renaissance era in Europe, by the American Colonies, and by Abraham Lincoln to pay off the Civil War. This debt free currency will compete with our debt laden currency in the free market. A dual competing currency is not a new idea. After all history shows a benefit of competing currencies such as Gold and Silver.
2. A debt free currency will need a “debt free” banking system that is open, honest, and transparent and one free of fractional reserve banking. Banks using this currency would be required to maintain 100% reserves and be allowed to invest only in real assets.
3. Gradually and responsibly America would phase out the Federal Reserve system in favor of the new “debt free” currency and banking system and push for a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting the Congress from borrowing money.
